The last time I had Salisbury steak was one of those tv dinners back in like ‘98. Then, I cooked up this recipe the other night and I’ll just say it won’t be that long of a drought before I have Salisbury steak again—so good! Let’s get to it!

1.) Mix together all first ingredients (eggs, milk, ketchup, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, mustard powder, Worcestershire, black pepper) except olive oil, breadcrumbs, and ground beef. Mix breadcrumbs together with ground beef. Pour the egg and milk mixture over beef and mix until combined. 2.) Form beef into patties. Pour 1 tablespoon of olive oil into a pan over medium-high heat. Add patties to pan and cook until both sides have a nice sear, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from pan and set aside. 3.) Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the pan and add in onions and mushrooms. Cook over medium heat until softened. Add in remaining gravy ingredients (garlic, flour, salt, mustard powder, garlic powder, onion powder, butter, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce) and stir to combine. Nestle patties into gravy, cover, and let cook for 10-15 minutes. 4.) Serve Salisbury steaks on a plate topped with a few scoops of gravy. 5.) Pairs perfectly with garlicky mashed potatoes or a hearty vegetable.
