1. First, prepare the BBQ seasoning blend: In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1.5 tablespoons of paprika (estimated from 'heaping tbsp'), 1 teaspoon of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of sea salt, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (estimated from 'pinch or two'). Mix thoroughly and store in an airtight container if not using immediately. 2. To make the Homemade BBQ Sauce: In a sauce pan, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1.5 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, and the entire prepared BBQ seasoning blend. 3. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring regularly. 4. Continue to simmer until all the sugar has dissolved. Taste the sauce and adjust with additional salt and pepper if desired. 5.
