
French Onion Soup

A delicious twist on the classic French onion soup featuring tender chicken thighs and a rich onion base topped with melted cheese.

What you need

tbsp olive oil

sweet onion

tbsp butter

tsp nutmeg

tsp thyme

bay leaves

garlic clove

tbsp balsamic vinegar
cup chicken stock
oz cheese
Instructions
1: Cook chicken thighs completely and set aside. 2: Add olive oil to the pan without cleaning it out and then add onions. Cover and cook until softened, about 10-15 minutes. 3: Remove lid and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until onions are golden brown. 4: Add balsamic vinegar and stir to combine. 5: Add butter, nutmeg, thyme, bay leaves, garlic, and salt and pepper to taste. 6: Add broth. Turn heat to high and cook until liquid reduces by half. 7: Add chicken to a baking dish. Pour onion mixture over chicken thighs. Sprinkle cheese over top and cook under broiler (on center rack) for about ten minutes. 8: Be hailed as the hero of your family for serving such a glorious creation!View original recipe
